ISPM-15 Heat Treatment
ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) is an international convention that addresses the treatment of wood packaging materials used in international trade.
The standard requires that wooden pallets be heat treated or fumigated to eliminate pests that could spread via international shipping.
Requirements
- Heat treatment to 56°C core temperature for 30 minutes
- Official certification stamp on treated pallets
- Required for most international shipments
- Applies to both new and used wood packaging
ISPM-15 Stamp
A compliant ISPM-15 stamp includes:
- • IPPC logo
- • Country code (US)
- • Producer/treatment provider number
- • Treatment code (HT for heat treatment)
- • Debarked status (DB if applicable)
